KATAKWE APOLOGISES FOR TELLING MOH STAFF TO EAT MODERATELY

Former Health Minister Dr Alex Katakwe apologised after remarks urging Ministry of Health workers to “eat moderately” and accept “something for talk time” after rendering services triggered public backlash and concern from the Anti- Corruption Commission Zambia (ACC).

ACC warned public officers against accepting gifts or gratification linked to official duties, saying such conduct risks compromising integrity and public confidence. The commission stressed that corruption includes rewards disguised as appreciation and reminded officers that public service ethics prohibit accepting benefits connected to official responsibilities.
