The prevailing undemocratic conditions, gross human rights abuses and restricted democratic and media spaces in Zambia under the watch of President Hakainde Hichilema as catalogued by the United Nations Humans Rights Council, USA Country Report on Zambia, Human Rights Watch International and others being perpetrated by this authoritarian regime demands that Scotland condemns this in clear, unequivocal, unambiguous, and unbiased terms and manner.
The gifts of state awards and honours of a chieftainess must not blind her to condemn humans rights violation or corrupt her to fail to do her duties.
