PRESIDENT LUNGU IN COPPERBELT, HH BLOCKED FROM FLYING INTO NDOLA
President Edgar Lungu has arrived in Ndola on the Copperbelt Province ahead of his three-day working visit.
He is expected to inspect developmental projects within the province.
Lungu landed at Ndola’s Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport around 10:00 hrs.
However, reports reaching Byta FM News by broadcast time, indicate that police had sealed off Kalulushi airstrip to block United Party for National Development (UPND) president, Hakainde Hichilema into the region.
Hichilema also discloses that his Chartered Plane has also been blocked from flying out of Lusaka via Kenneth Kaunda International Airport or any other private airstrip to the Copperbelt.
The opposition leader was scheduled to attend the burial of late UPND Copperbelt Youth Chairman, Ronald Bwalya Manenga.
Meanwhile, UPND Spokesperson, Patrick Mucheleka says authorities have not given reason for the development.
